This is a fast and easy game that will reinforce letter identification and recognition.

Object of the game:  Be the first player to roll and identify the upper and/or lowercase letters of the alphabet.

Materials needed: Let 'er Roll Game Sheet for each player, pencil, two - four 30-sided dice (uppercase and lowercase recommended).

The play:  Players decide who rolls first. First player rolls the 30-sided letter dice. The letters displayed on the dice are the letters he writes in the black space below the letter on his game sheet. Pre-school players may simply put an "X" or check the space below the corresponding letters on the game sheet.

Playing rolling a "wild" or "vowel" may write any letter or vowel not yet rolled.

Before play begins, decide if the letters rolled will be pronounced before filling in the spaces.

Scoring: The first player to fill in all empty spaces wins.

Variation: If time is a factor, set a timer. After a certain amount of time, the game ends. The player with the most letters filled in is the winner.

As players fill in their blank letter spaces, have them say aloud words that begin or end with the letter.
