Students learn essential story elements as they become accomplished authors.  Writing is a necessary life-long skill and VoWac's story writing helps students develop it.

 

Teachers can receive training through our Level I workshop. This workshop now provides teaching strategies in story writing.  Graduate credit is also available.  Check the WORKSHOP & TRAINING SCHEDULE  for a session near you.

Level 3
  • Direct instruction on how to write five stories
  • Students follow instructional modeling by their teacher
  • Structured for one day per week, the writing cycle is completed five times throughout the year
  • Students produce five stories using the same main character (similar to "Curious George" or "Clifford" storybooks) by the end of the school year.

  • Direct instruction on how to write a five chapter book
  • Students follow instructional modeling by their teacher
  • Structured for one day per week, the writing cycle is completed five times throughout the year
  • Students produce a five chapter novel by the end of the school year.
